Economic Development Summit & New Business Incubation Committee

Following on the efforts of over 70 San Juan County residents to identify challenges and opportunities for our economy and businesses at our Fall 2013 Economic Development Summit, a committee to  explore business incubation has been formed and started working on initiatives.  The Business Incubation Committee, created to foster emerging businesses through education and cooperation,  plans to start a regular Business Café event and, in 2015, to start a business plan competition.

The EDC Business Cafés were created as a way to ensure that our entrepreneurs have an arena to discuss issues important to their businesses.  Businesses in all stages of growth and health are invited to attend – to share stories, to find solutions, to create solidarities.  The cafés will be held regularly on all three islands in rotation.
